Pune News : Runners from Pune to spread message for water conservation on February 26
Pune: Rotary Club of Pune Amanora (RCPA) is organizing a family-run event called “Kalyani Ferresta Neerathon 2023” in Amanora Park Town, Hadapsar, Pune.
This event is named as “Neerathon” which is aligned to its theme around the conservation of water. Last year Rotary Club of Pune Amanora provided water wheels and water ATMs in remote villages of Pilosari in Raigarh District, Maharashtra to address water related challenges. “Neerathon” is designed to propagate the message to the community about saving water.
The club president Saraswati Venkat said, “RCPA is expecting around 1000+ participants to take part in the event. Amanora is our venue partner and Fern Hotels and Clubs remains our hospitality partner. The run will be organized on 26th February 2023 from 5:30 AM to 9 AM and will consist of 3 Km, 5 Km and 10 Km run. There are exciting prizes and medals for the runners as well.”
Rotary Club of Pune Amanora intends to execute sustainable endeavors for water conservation and making fresh water available to the needy and intends to continue with the initiatives in 2023. RCPA is supported by Maersk Global Services, Pune for this project through their CSR Activities. RCPA Members are also supporting 50+ underprivileged students with free training and registration.”

Neerathon is the annual event of the Rotary Club of Pune Amanora which raises funds to execute projects related to the conservation of water. This year we want to cover a nearby village. Rashmi Satav, an athlete and iron man triathlon finisher who is also ambassador and pacer for this marathon said, “Proud to be associated with Neerathon as it is a well-organised race in beautiful locales and also for a good cause of water conservation.” Rashmi is a 38-year-old woman, mother of an 8-year-old son and small business owner, who is an endurance athlete by passion.
