Pune News: School Cashier Embezzles Rs 16 Lakh; Case Filed By Loni Kalbhor Police
Pune: A case has come to light where a school cashier embezzled Rs 16,69,000. The incident, which occurred between January 10, 2023, and June 21, 2024, was reported by the school director to the Loni Kalbhor police station. The accused cashier had been handling the fees collected from parents for educational expenses and uniforms for primary and pre-primary students. The amount embezzled totaled Rs 14,45,000.
The discrepancy was discovered during an audit, which revealed that the cashier had stolen cash worth Rs 2,44,000, along with account books and receipts from the director’s office. The police have filed a case against the accused, and Police Sub-Inspector Ratnadeep Birajdar is investigating the matter.
