Pune News : Wagholi residents unite over water and infrastructure development issues, hold morcha against PMC

Pune : Hundreds of Wagholikar have united for the protest march organised by Team Wagholi Against Corruption (TWAC) on Sunday at municipal corporation office in Wagholi for demanding water and road related issues.

In the morning around 11:00 am Wagholi residents united at the Pune Municipal Corporation office in Wagholi and raised slogans demanding their long pending issues like water and roads. Protesters raised slogans against the civic body. Slogans like ‘No Water, No Road’ Then ‘No Tax and No Vote’ were raised by protesters.

A K Mishra, who was leading the protest said, “This is our third protest, every time civic officials agreed to solve our problems but nothing has happened. Hence this time we have gathered here at PMC office and will not withdraw our protest until our demands are not fulfilled.’’

AK Mishra told that Wagholikar heavily spends money on purchasing water tankers but after repeated requests no action has been taken on this issue. Wagholikar questioned that, if they are paying tax on time, then why are they not getting proper basic facilities from the civic bodies?

Protesters met Nitin Jadhav, civic officials from the Water Department and gave him a memorandum of demands.  Nitin Jadhav said,“ Yes, protesters approached us on various demands. Soon we will call their meeting with our seniors to discuss their demands in detail and will try to figure out their demands as soon as possible.’’
