Pune News : Wakad Police Arrests Gang Using Dangerous Weapons and Modern Tools to Rob Bank ATMs

Pune: Wakad police thwarted a robbery attempt at Dange Chowk by arresting a gang of four members. However, four other accused fled the scene and a search operation to locate them is going on.
As per information, the police received a call at around 1.28 am on Sunday that the shutters were partially open and some people had entered the Federal Bank. When the police got the information, they immediately reached the spot. On inspecting, they found that one of the shutters had a large hole and was partially open. They went inside the bank to carry out further inspection. However, suddenly 8 armed robbers attacked the police. The police managed to thwart the attack and also caught 4 burglars. The others managed to run away.
A team of police tried to chase them in which one police marshal Vinod Sonawane was injured, however, police succeeded in arresting four members of the gang.
During interrogation, the 4 burglars revealed that they carried gas cutters, gas cylinders, screwdrivers and other tools to break open the bank. The police have seized the tools used to rob the bank. Search for other robbers is underway. Police are further investigating the case.
