In an effort to combat crime and illegal activities within societies and businesses, the Wakad police station in Pimpri Chinchwad Police Commissionerate have issued a directive mandating all societies and businesses to submit crucial information related to their operations.

Chairman of the Pimpri Chinchwad Housing Societies Federation, Dattatray Deshmukh, revealed that the Wakad police have requested comprehensive details regarding societies and flats, with a particular emphasis on rented flats. Since a significant portion, around 30% to 40%, of flats in the societies are rented, the police have initiated physical verifications of these flats and societies to maintain a record for the safety of all residents.

The decision by the Wakad police comes in response to a recent incident where an attempted bank robbery in Dange Chowk, Pimpri Chinchwad was thwarted due to the vigilance of local citizens and prompt police action. During the interrogation of the apprehended suspects, it was discovered that the owner of the flat they were staying in had neglected to conduct police verification. Consequently, these accused individuals had not been registered at the local police station. The flat owner now faces charges under the relevant laws for accommodating individuals attempting serious crimes like robbery without providing any information.

The following information is required to be submitted to the Wakad police:

  1. A comprehensive list of details regarding house owners and tenants in the society/establishment, including the number of house owners who have submitted information to the police station.
  2. Detailed information on the installation and backup of closed-circuit television (CCTV) cameras in the society/establishment.
  3. Complete information about the security agencies employed in the society/establishment, including the liaison officers and police verification of security guards.
  4. Full information about the manager of the society/establishment/hotel.
  5. A name list of all staff members in the hotel along with their police verification.
  6. A photocopy of the blueprint of the hotel/establishment.
  7. A list of workers in the nursery or daycare facility, including their names and police verification.

Societies, businesses, and other relevant entities are requested to submit the required information to the Anti-Terrorism Cell/Confidential Branch at the Wakad Police Station within seven days without fail. Failure to comply may result in appropriate legal action being taken.

By implementing these measures, the Wakad police aim to enhance security, deter criminal activities, and ensure the well-being of residents and businesses. It is crucial for all concerned parties to cooperate and fulfill their obligations to maintain a safe and secure environment within the community.
