Pune: Parents Rally In Support Of School Management Amid Arrest Of Director
On Friday morning, hundreds of parents and students gathered outside a school in Karvenagar to express their support for the school management and the director, who was arrested by Pune police the previous day. The arrest follows an incident in which an 11-year-old student was abused by a school dance teacher. The student reported the inappropriate behavior to the school counselor, leading to the teacher’s arrest.
The seriousness of the situation prompted the Pune police to register an FIR, and an ongoing investigation is in progress. In the aftermath of the incident, protests were organized by some parents and political party members, resulting in the arrest of one of the school’s directors.
Despite the protests, a large group of parents and students assembled outside the school to voice their support for the management and protest the arrest.
“I fully support the school management and the victim’s parents. This incident is truly unfortunate, and we stand by those affected. However, it’s disheartening to see some individuals politicizing this sensitive matter rather than addressing it constructively,” said a parent.
Another parent shared her views, stating, “I believe the unfortunate incident should not overshadow the school’s long-standing values and commitment to nurturing our children. I trust that justice will be served and the guilty party will be held accountable.”
