Pune: The Pune-Nashik semi-high-speed railway project has been canceled due to the GMRIT project, as informed by Union Railway Minister Shri Ashwini Vaishnaw in Parliament, shared by MP Dr. Amol Kolhe through his X handle.

While the GMRT project is considered a prestigious one, it has stalled the development of this region. Dr. Kolhe emphasized that sacrificing the development of the Shirur Lok Sabha constituency for this project is unacceptable. Therefore, he has urged the scientists of GMRT to find a technical solution to the objections raised about the railway project, or alternatively, to relocate the GMRT project to an area with a lower population density. This request has been made to the Prime Minister’s office and Union Minister of State for Science and Technology, Dr. Jitendra Singh.

Dr. Kolhe further expressed that the Pune-Nashik semi-high-speed railway project holds the potential to significantly boost the development of the Shirur Lok Sabha constituency, as well as the Pune and Nashik districts. As a representative, he has been consistently pursuing this matter, and he assured that the struggle for the completion of the railway project would continue until it is fully realized.
