Pune: A penalty of ₹3,10,89,600 (Three Crore Ten Lakh Eighty-Nine Thousand Six Hundred Rupees) has been levied on the construction project in Kharadi after a complaint by the Rayat Swabhimani Sanghtana. The construction company had dug roads to lay electric cables without permission. Following the complaint, the Pune Municipal Corporation’s road department inspected the site and imposed the penalty.

The construction company had laid 850 meters of electric cable by digging roads without authorization. Despite Pune Municipal Commissioner Vikram Kumar’s clear order prohibiting unauthorized road excavation within the city limits, the construction company proceeded with the work. Rayat Swabhimani Sanghtana Secretary Raviraj Kale has demanded that the penalty be collected promptly, or else a Work Stop Notice should be issued. The construction work should not be resumed until the penalty amount is deposited in the municipal treasury.
