The persistent efforts of former corporators Nana Kate and Shatrughan Kate have yielded a promising outcome for the residents of Pimple Saudagar-Rahatani area, as preparations are underway to establish a new post office.

This development comes following positive responses from both the Indian Post Office Department and the Pune Municipal Corporation, who have expressed their support through official correspondence.

On February 23, 2022, Ex Corporator Shatrughan Kate submitted a formal request detailing the urgent need for a new post office in Ward No. 28, Pimple Saudagar. In his letter, he highlighted the challenges faced by the citizens of Pimple Saudagar-Rahatani in accessing essential postal services. This initiative aimed to draw attention to the pressing issue and encourage appropriate action from the relevant authorities.

In a separate letter directed to the Post Office and Municipal Department, Nana Kate, another former corporator, emphasized the substantial population residing in Ward No. 28 Rahatani-Pimple Saudagar. With an estimated population of 80,000 to 100,000, the area is home to private and government educational institutions, as well as the offices of the Defense Department. Notably, the locality also houses residential complexes, government and private banks, and IT park offices. Nana Kate’s letter underscored the inconvenience faced by residents who were compelled to travel to Aundh or Pimpri Chinchwad for postal services.

Driven by a steadfast determination, Nana Kate and Shatrughan Kate embarked on a sustained communication campaign with both the post office department and the Pune Municipal Corporation. Their concerted efforts aimed to advocate for the establishment of a new post office at Rahatani-Pimple Saudagar.
