On 31st August, Pune Municipal Corporation (PMC) removed encroachments from many areas of Viman Nagar such as Phoenix Mall Road, Biodiversity Park road, etc.

Speaking to Pune Pulse, Sanjay Kumbhar, PMC Encroachment Officer, said “Just like the exercise of encroachment removal started by the PMC in the entire Pune city, we removed several encroachments in Viman Nagar area. 5 to 6 huge stalls were removed in several areas of Viman Nagar. These stalls were of 4×5, 4×6 sizes. Hence, they were coming on the road. Thus, we studied all the encroachments, how much space they are encroaching etc & then removed them.”

It is worth mentioning that the PMC is running a specific campaign to remove the encroachments on the Pune city roads as well as the obstructions & illegal structures on the roads. The work is being carried out under the leadership of PMC Additional Commissioner Vikas Dhakane.

Some days ago, The PMC had removed encroachments of 5 stalls & 20 hawkers on NIBM Undri road
