Pune : PMRDA Commissioner inspects metro construction work at Maan

PUNE: The Pune Metropolitan Region Development Authority is currently implementing the 23.203 km Metro Line 3 (the “Project”) on a Public-Private Partnership (PPP) basis, utilizing the Design Build Finance Operate and Transfer (DBFOT) model. 

The Authority has awarded the Contract to TRIL Urban Transport Pvt. Ltd. and Siemens Project Ventures GmbH.

As per the information provided, to undertake the Project, a Special Purpose Vehicle named “Pune IT City Metro Rail Limited” has been formed and is the Concessionaire for the Project. The Concession Agreement has been signed with the approval of the State Government on 21.09.2019. The Appointed Date for the Project has been declared on 25.11.2022, and approximately 43% of the work has been completed.

As per the information received, the Car Depot of the Pune Metro Line 3 is located in the village of Maan in Mulshi Taluka and covers an area of 13.2 hectares. The Car Depot comprises storage units, stabling lines, an inspection bay, a washing bay, a test track, an office building, and is the location where regular maintenance work is carried out.

On 14.09.2023 at 11:30 am, the PMRDA’s Metropolitan Commissioner visited the Pune Metro Line 3 at the Maan Project site. He inspected the entire construction works and completed the pooja at the site of the work of Mainline Turnout at Covered Stabling yard, which covers an area of approximately 3509 sq. m. and has completed 200 MT of erection out of 260 MT.

Furthermore, the Commissioner completed the pooja at the Inspection Bay cum workshop building, which measures approximately 5378.5 sq. m. and requires approximately 750 MT of steel to cover the entire roof structure with required ventilation and lighting.
