Pune, January 27, 2026: The Market Yard Traffic Department of Pune Traffic Police has issued a traffic advisory announcing the complete closure of a key road stretch between Gangadham and Shatrunjay Road due to ongoing excavation work by the Pune Municipal Corporation (PMC).
According to the advisory, the section from Shriji Chowk to Gagan Vihar Y-Junction, located on the Aai Mata mandir slope (Gangadham–Shatrunjay Road), will remain closed to all vehicular traffic from January 25, 2026, until the completion of the work.
Motorists have been urged to follow alternative routes to avoid inconvenience and ensure smooth traffic flow in the area.
Alternative Routes Suggested:
- From Kondhwa (Kanha Hotel) towards Gangadham Chowk:
Commuters should take the Pasalkar Chowk–Bibwewadi Road route or use Pasalkar Chowk–Kondhwa Road to reach their destination. - From Gangadham Chowk towards Kondhwa (Kanha Hotel):
Drivers are advised to travel via Gangadham–Lulla Nagar Chowk–Kondhwa or alternatively use the Gangadham–Bibwewadi route.
Special Instructions:
The traffic department has appealed to residents and housing societies to circulate this advisory across society and social media groups to prevent inconvenience. Motorists are also requested to strictly follow traffic police instructions and use the designated alternative routes.
Authorities stated that public cooperation will help maintain smooth and safe traffic movement during the excavation period.
