Pune: Power Supply Cut For 3,050 Customers Due To Heavy Rain and Dam Discharges
Pune, August 4, 2024: Due to continuous rainfall and the ongoing discharge of water from dams, power supply has been temporarily suspended for approximately 3,050 customers in Pune, Pimpri, as well as in the talukas of Khed, Maval, and Ambegaon for safety reasons.
The release of water from Khadakwasla Dam has led to the suspension of electricity in several areas, including 100 customers in the vicinity of the Deccan bridge, 450 customers in Ekta Nagar on Sinhgad Road, 100 customers in Bhimnagar, 400 customers in Shantinagar and Indiranagar in Vishrantwadi, 450 customers in the old market area of Mangalwar Peth, and 450 customers in the Tadiwala Road area, totaling around 1,950 customers. Additionally, 400 customers in Sanjay Gandhi Nagar and Pimpri Camp in Pimpri are also affected.
In Maval taluka, power supply has been suspended for about 700 customers in Vadivale, Valkh, Budhwad, Sangise, Nesave, and Khandshi due to the submergence of electrical infrastructure.
In Khed taluka, power has been cut for customers in Sakurdi, Kahu, Vetale, and Saygaon Kothule. In Ambegaon taluka, landslides at the foothills of Panchale Khurd and Vachpe villages have led to the relocation of residents, and electricity supply for approximately 15 customers in these areas has been suspended for safety reasons.
