Pune Rail Metro announced the return journey ticket for the commuters from March 1 2024, stands discontinued. Therefore, the commuters will have to buy a separate return ticket from now onwards.

Earlier the passengers had the facility to travel back from the same purchased ticket, which will now be discontinued.

A regular traveller in Metro from Bavdhan to Garware said, “With the introduction of this new rule, it will become more time-consuming as we will have to buy two tickets daily now. Maybe I will have to start leaving earlier than I do now to return on time.”

Further, Mahametro has now completed two routes; Vanaz (Vanaz Metro Station) to Ruby Hall (Ruby Hall Clinic Metro Station) at a distance of 24 kilometers, secondly from Pimpri-Chinchwad Municipal Corporation (PCMC Metro Station) to Civil Court Metro Station.

With the initiative of Metro in Pune City, many commuters travel daily by Metro to avoid traffic and travel economically.

On February 29 2024, Pune Rail Metro tweeted on X (formerly Twitter) announcing, “The Return Journey Ticket (RJT) facility will no longer be available.”
