Pune Railway Division Fines Over 19,000 Ticketless Travelers in August 2023

In a move to warn people who do not purchase train tickets, the Pune Railway Division has fined 19 Thousand plus people who simply roam around in the railway station without a railway ticket.

As per information from Dr Ramdas Bhise, Divisional Commercial Manager (DCM) And PRO Pune Railway, during ticket checking on Pune Railway Division in August 2023, 19 thousand 101 people were found travelling without tickets and a total fine of Rs 1 crore 43 lakh 56 thousand was recovered from them. 

Along with this, 9149 people were fined Rs 51 lakh 45 thousand for travelling irregularly & without proper tickets. A fine of Rs 26 thousand was collected from 234 people carrying unbooked luggage.

The above action is done under the guidance of Divisional Railway Manager Indu Dubey and in coordination with Additional Divisional Railway Manager Brijesh Kumar Singh and Senior Divisional Commercial Manager Dr Milind Hirve and under the leadership of Divisional Commercial Manager Dr Ramdas Bhise and in collaboration with ticket checking inspectors and Railway Protection Force.                 

Ticket checking is being conducted regularly by railway administration. Passengers are requested to travel only with proper tickets, otherwise they will have to pay fine under the Railway Act and in case of non-payment, they may face imprisonment.
