Pune: Reckless Water Tanker Driving And Spillage Poses Safety Hazards In On NIBM Road In Kondhwa, Residents Demand Action From PMC And OwnersÂ
Pune: Reckless driving and also overfilled water tankers are raising serious safety concerns among residents along Salunke Vihar Road, NIBM road and Mohammadwadi. Tankers, throughout the day, are reportedly speeding and spilling water on the road, particularly on the slope from Anandvan to Sunshree Junction and onward to HDFC Bank Junction and also in other adjoining areas where there is steep gradient.
With a spate of recent accidents involving heavy vehicles in Pune, residents fear these tankers could contribute to further mishaps. Local citizens have also highlighted water wastage caused by the tankers, which often leaves roads slippery and hazardous.
Critical areas such as Salunke Vihar Road to RIMS School Chowk and RIMS School to Sunshree Kangan have become high-risk zones. The water spillage not only endangers drivers but also damages roads and causes flooding in nearby society premises.
One particular incident has been noticed by the residents of a society on Salunke vihar road where the spilled water from tankers is entering the society premises making it risky not just for bikers but also for pedestrians.
Residents are urging the Pune Municipal Corporation (PMC) and tanker owners to address the issue immediately. They call for stricter regulations and monitoring of tanker operations to ensure public safety and prevent further deterioration of road conditions.
