Pune: Revised Special Summary Revision Program For Voter List Announced

Pune, July 24: In light of the upcoming Assembly elections, the Election Commission of India has announced a revised special summary revision program for voter lists based on the eligibility date of July 1, 2024. Collector Dr. Suhas Diwase has urged eligible citizens to complete their voter registration by August 16, 2024.

Dr. Diwase stated that the draft voter list will be published on Friday, August 2. Claims and objections regarding the draft list will be accepted from August 2 to August 16. Action on received claims and objections will be completed by August 26, after which the final voter list will be published on Tuesday, August 27.

Under this special revision program, activities will include registering new voters, removing names of deceased and migrated voters, correcting errors in voter ID cards, updating photographs as per the Election Commission’s standards, and preparing the voter list. After the draft list is published, voters are advised to verify their details such as name, address, and age, and make any necessary corrections within the stipulated period.

To ensure that all voters exercise their right to vote in the upcoming Assembly elections, the district administration is making concerted efforts. A special campaign is being conducted in colleges to increase the participation of youth aged 18 to 19 in the voter registration process. Dr. Diwase has encouraged eligible citizens to actively participate in this program and register their names in the voter list.
