Pune Schools and Colleges in Lashkar Police Jurisdiction to Remain Closed on September 8
Pune, September 7, 2025 — The Pune Zilla Parishad has announced a holiday for all schools and colleges within the Lashkar Police Station limits on Monday, September 8, 2025, in view of Hazrat Mohammad Prophet’s birth anniversary (Eid-e-Milad) Program.
According to an official order issued by the Education Department, the decision was taken following a letter from the Senior Police Inspector of Lashkar Police Station. The communication highlighted that several processions and programs have been scheduled by the Sirat Committee and various local organizations across Pune from 9:00 AM to 10:00 PM on the day of the festival.
Authorities have cautioned that heavy crowds and traffic congestion are expected in different parts of the city during the celebrations, which could cause significant inconvenience for school and college students commuting to and from classes.

To avoid these difficulties, the Pune Zilla Parishad has officially declared a holiday for all listed schools and colleges in the Lashkar Police Station jurisdiction.
The order has been signed by Education Officer (Primary) Sanjay Naikade and Education Officer (Secondary) Dr. Bhausaheb Karekar of the Pune Zilla Parishad. Parents are urged to check with their respective schools for holiday notification.
