Pune: Fire Breaks Out At Yerwada Commerzone IT Park, Fireman Suffers Minor Injury
Pune, September 7, 2025 — A major fire broke out on the sixth floor of Yerwada Commerzone IT Park on Sunday morning around 7:45 am, triggering swift action from the Pune Fire Brigade.
According to officials, the fire started inside an office unit and quickly spread across the premises, engulfing documents, furniture, electrical equipment, and other office materials. On receiving the emergency call, multiple fire tenders from Yerwada, Kharadi, Naidu, and Dhanori fire stations rushed to the spot.
Firefighters promptly deployed hose lines and utilized the IT Park’s in-built fire suppression system to contain the flames. Within half an hour, the blaze was brought under control, preventing it from spreading to adjoining offices and averting a potential large-scale disaster.
While there was no loss of life reported, one fireman, identified as Sonya Dada Naidu from Naidu Fire Station, sustained a minor leg injury during the operation. He was given immediate medical attention.
The incident caused significant material loss, with office assets reduced to ashes. However, the timely response and coordinated efforts of the fire brigade ensured that the damage was restricted to a single unit.
Authorities are currently investigating the cause of the fire. Meanwhile, fire officials urged corporate offices to regularly inspect and maintain their fire safety systems to prevent similar incidents in the future.
