Pune: On Saturday morning, devotees witnessed a mesmerizing celestial event as the gentle morning sun rays performed a “Mahabhishek” on the revered Shreemant Dagdusheth Halwai Ganpati. Exactly at 8:15 AM, the sun’s rays fell upon the idol, creating a divine spectacle that devotees eagerly captured on their mobile phones, chanting “Jai Ganesh.”
This unique phenomenon occurs every year after the Magh Ganesh Jayanti celebrations during Uttarayan when the temple’s east-facing structure allows sunlight to reach the idol. The sacred rays also illuminated the silver idols of Goddess Siddhi and Goddess Buddhi, enhancing the spiritual aura of the moment.
The event, which lasted until 8:31 AM, left devotees in awe. According to the temple authorities, this rare occurrence happens annually a week after Ganesh Jayanti, making it a cherished moment for worshippers.
