Pune : Symbiosis college professor remanded in police custody

Pune: The Symbiosis College of Arts and Commerce (SCAC) professor who was arrested on Thursday for purportedly making derogatory comments against Hindu deities in class and hurting religious sentiments was remanded to police custody by a court in Pune.
The Deccan Gymkhana Police arrested Ashok Sopan Dhole (43), after a complaint filed by Ravindra Padwal (30), a member of the Samast Hindu Bandhav for hurting religious sentiments. Later, the police booked Dhole under IPC Segment 295A.
On Friday, Dhole was produced before the court as they took his custody. Senior Police Inspector Vipin Hasabnis added, ”The accused was remanded in police custody. He will be produced before the court again. During interrogation, he did not give any satisfactory answers.”
