Pune Tehsildar Suspended Over Alleged Irregularities in Parth Pawar’s 40-Acre Land Deal
Pune, November 6, 2025 — The Maharashtra government has taken strict action in the controversial land deal involving Parth Pawar, son of NCP president and Deputy Chief Minister Ajit Pawar. The Pune Tehsildar, Suryakant Yevale, has been suspended following allegations that Parth Pawar’s company acquired 40 acres of government land in Koregaon Park at an unusually low price.
The transaction reportedly involved a waiver of Rs 25 crore in stamp duty, with only Rs 500 paid to complete the deal. Questions have arisen over the unusually rapid approval of this waiver, granted just two days after the purchase, raising concerns about possible misuse of power.
The government has also ordered the formation of an inquiry committee, headed by Additional Chief Secretary Vikas Kharge, to investigate the matter. Parth Pawar, along with his relatives and business partners, is alleged to have bypassed government regulations in the acquisition.
The incident has sparked criticism from opposition parties, who accuse the administration of favouring influential individuals and violating procedural norms in one of Pune’s most upscale areas.
