A viral clip shows how a reckless attempt to show off turned into a lesson the youngster won’t forget
A video from Thane has gone viral, showing a young man performing dangerous stunts on a scoożter and attempting to kick a passing biker on a busy road. What he didn’t realise was that a police patrol team was riding right behind him and watching the entire incident unfold. Within moments, the officers stopped him and took him into custody, turning his late-night stunt ride into a life lesson.
The video begins with several two-wheelers moving along the road. Suddenly, the youth is seen standing on his scooter, swaying dangerously and stretching his leg out to kick two riders alongside him. He narrowly avoids falling during the first attempt. A few seconds later, he tries again, even placing his foot briefly on one of the scooters, risking serious injury to everyone around him.
Unaware that police officers from Mumbra were following him, he continued with his reckless behaviour. The officers immediately intercepted him, detained him on the spot and took him to the police station.
Thane Police later shared another video — this time of the youngster standing with folded hands and apologising for his actions. Along with the clip, the police wrote: “Stop reckless stunts! Mumbra Police takes immediate action against youth who broke rules while performing stunts on a motor scooter.”
In another i, iìvideo recorded at the police station, the youth introduces himself and admits that he attempted the stunt. He urges others to “drive slowly” and warns that “police will take action” if anyone tries such behaviour on public roads.
Incidents of young riders performing stunts at night, often without protective gear, have been increasing in many cities. Citizens regularly call for action, pointing out that such behaviour puts not just the stunt performers but also other commuters at risk.
