Pune’s poor municipal infrastructure has come to light with the arrival of the monsoon, causing extensive floods and waterlogging around the city. In response, the Pune Police’s Traffic branch has put together and presented a list of more than 100 places that are prone to waterlogging, which greatly exacerbates traffic congestion.

According to DCP (Traffic), Rohidas Pawar, these kinds of projects ought to be started at least two months before the monsoon as clogged stormwater and drainage pipes cause flooding throughout the city, which makes travelling extremely difficult for commuters, particularly those who ride two wheels.

The Pune Municipal Corporation (PMC) is urged to address persistent issues causing heavy congestion during the rainy season in specific locations. Residents and commuters have been complaining for a long time, requesting the government to fix roads and drainage systems to prevent waterlogging and address the long-standing congestion issues. The list urges immediate action to address these issues.
