Pune : There is a traffic jam in Sheetal Chowk, Ashoka Muse Society, Pargenagar, and Kausarbaug areas of Kondhwa. Deputy Commissioner of Police Rohidas Pawar has informed that the Pune Traffic Police will temporarily change the traffic from today (19th March) to solve this dilemma.

Speaking to Pune Pulse, Rohidas Pawar, DCP Headquarter, Pune Police, said, “During peak hours, movement of heavy vehicles like tankers, etc., is restricted in many areas of Kondhwa. Police deployment has increased. As the month of Ramadan is ongoing, a lot of Muslim brothers and sisters come in large numbers to Kondhwa to offer Namaz. Hence, to ensure that traffic remains safe and smooth, a lot of additional manpower has been deployed.”

Rohidas Pawar further said, “Also, heavy vehicle movement is restricted from 5 pm to 8:30 pm in such areas where a lot of traffic congestion tends to happen. This restriction is applicable until the end of the Ramadan month. Near the mosques, a lot of traffic congestions tend to happen. So, this temporary provision is there.

  • Heavy traffic and water tankers going to Salunkhe Vihar via Fakri Hill from the square at Jyoti Hotel in Kondhwa will be prohibited from turning right.

Alternative route – Heavy vehicles can take a U-turn under the bridge at Lullanagar to Salunkhe Vihar.

  • Heavy vehicles and water tankers are prohibited from turning left at Jyoti Hotel square towards Pargenagar via Mayfair Junction.

Alternative route – From the square at Jyoti Hotel, one can go straight to Pargenagar via Sheetal Chowk.

  • Heavy traffic and tankers going to Jyoti Hotel from Pargenagar via Mayfair Junction will remain banned.

Alternative route – Heavy vehicles can approach Jyoti Hotel from Pargenagar via Sheetal Chowk.
