Navi Mumbai, April 3, 2026: In a significant boost to urban connectivity, the Navi Mumbai Municipal Corporation (NMMC) has inaugurated a new arm flyover at Sector 17, Vashi, creating a direct link between Palm Beach Road and the Sion–Panvel Highway.

The flyover was inaugurated by Maharashtra Forest Minister Ganesh Naik, in the presence of Mayor Sujata Patil, Deputy Mayor Dashrath Bhagat, and other civic officials.

Addressing the media, Naik highlighted that the project bridges a crucial gap in the city’s transport network and will greatly ease traffic movement. He also commended the authorities involved in executing the project and expressed confidence in further infrastructure improvements across Navi Mumbai.

Built at a cost of ₹18.32 crore, the 290-metre-long and 6.5-metre-wide flyover allows motorists to access the Sion–Panvel Highway directly from Palm Beach Road near the Vashi City Bank junction, removing the need for a longer diversion via Sanpada.

Civic officials stated that the new connection will reduce travel time by 10 to 15 minutes for daily commuters. Importantly, it is expected to cut overall travel time to Pune from Panvel by nearly 20 minutes, while also contributing to fuel savings.

The flyover is expected to play a key role in streamlining traffic flow and enhancing overall mobility in Navi Mumbai.
