Pune : Two Individuals Attempt Suicide at Lonikand Police Station After Alleged Altercation

In an incident on April 1st, two individuals identified as Satyavan Gawde and Ram Gajmal attempted to take their lives by pouring a flammable substance over themselves within the premises of the Lonikand Police Station.

According to reports, the situation escalated from an alleged confrontation involving the complainant, who had notified authorities about the accused running their hotel, named New Pyasa, beyond permitted hours. Identified as Satyavan Gawde, aged 34, and Ram Gajmal, aged 22, both residing near Zilla Parishad School, Ubalenagar, Wagholi Pune, the individuals resorted to the extreme act following police intervention.

The incident prompted legal action, with the complainant filing a case against the accused under Sections 506 and 309 of the Indian Penal Code (IPC). Police Inspector (Crime) Seema Dhakne confirmed ongoing investigations into the matter.
