Pune : Vadgaon Sheri MLA Sunil Tingre requests joining of Metro from Swargate to Lohegaon Airport
Pune : Metro Line 3 planned to extend till Loni Kalbhor; decision to be taken soon
Vadgaon Sheri MLA Sunil Tingre has requested to join the Metro from Swargate to Pune Airport to enhance connectivity & for the ease of passengers.
As per further information from X handle of Sunil Tingre “I expressed the view that the Metro in Pune should be connected from Swargate to the Airport to increase connectivity and provide greater convenience to the passengers. Presently, Metro is connected to Ramwadi only. But there is no connectivity ahead, if this service is provided many air travellers will benefit.”
While speaking in the assembly on 28 February 2024, Sunil Tingre further said that the Metro connectivity is rapidly spreading to every corner of the city and is receiving a great response. The Metro network has joined Shivajinagar Bus Stand, Kothrud Bus Stand, Swargate Bus Stand, Pune Railway Station etc. However, the Pune Airport is left.
Tingre further said that whenever people go to foreign countries, they see that the Metro is connected directly to the airports. Hence, Tingre requested the Metro administration & the state government to join Metro from Swargate to Pune Airport.
