Pune Weather Update : City to experience light to moderate rainfall on September 8 and 9

The Indian Meteorological Department (IMD) Pune has predicted that the monsoon is likely to be strong in Maharashtra for the upcoming days.

Dr Anupam Kashyapi, Head, Weather Forecasting Division, IMD Pune, conveyed the information on his X handle, ‘The atmosphere will remain cloudy throughout the day. The city may experience medium rainfall, light to moderate rainfall. The ghat areas will also experience heavy to very heavy rainfall at isolated locations.”

Significant increase in rain activity is likely to be experienced and rain most likely to remain at peak on 8 and 9 September. Earlier, the weather forecasting department had informed about chances of Orange alert due to rainfall activity. Farmers must be ready to take its fullest advantage.’

As per further information from IMD, the following are the weather predictions for Pune & surrounding areas from September 8 to 11:

·         September 8 – Skies will remain cloudy. Chances of moderate to heavy rain. Possibility of heavy rain at isolated places in the Ghat section.

·          September 9 – Skies are likely to remain mostly cloudy. Chances of mild to moderate rain.

·         September 10 – Skies are likely to remain mostly cloudy. Chances of light to moderate rain.

·         September 11 – Skies are likely to remain partly cloudy & mostly cloudy in the afternoon/evening. Chances of light rain.

Following are the weather predictions for Konkan-Goa, Madhya Maharashtra, Marathwada, and Vidarbha from  September 8 to 11:

Konkan-Goa:

·         September 8 – Chances of rain at most places. Chances of heavy rain at isolated places.

·         September 9 – Chances of rain at most places. Chances of heavy rain at isolated places.

·         September 10- Chances of rain at most places.

·         September 11- Chances of rain at most places.

Madhya Maharashtra:                               

·         September 8 – Chances of rain at most places. Chances of heavy rain at isolated places.
