Pune: In light of bogus certificates for self-accreditation by schools in Pune, the Pune Zilla Parishad (ZP) has found an alternative to physical self-accreditation certificates. Henceforth, self-accreditation will be given only through the online system.

As per the information, the self-accreditation certificate issued by the ZP to the schools will now have a QR code which will eliminate the possibility of creating a fake certificate.

It is worthy to note that ZP issues self-accreditation certificates every three years to all private aided and unaided schools in Pune, Pimpri-Chinchwad and rural areas. It was revealed that some schools in Pune city were operating on fake certificates. In this, there is a risk of academic damage to the students. Therefore, the ZP has implemented the e-approval system and ordered the schools to submit the documents through the online process only.

Over 2800 schools will receive online validation. These schools will receive an Accreditation Certificate with a QR Code. The school will have to pay Rs 2000 fees for the application. This will result in an increase of the ZP’s revenue.

The investigation officer will scrutinize the online application made by the school. If there are any issues, they will be informed through online only. The education officer will receive an OTP for the same to conduct the whole process.

Private schools are given self-accreditation after several years. Thus, for this, the ZP has now developed an e-approval system. By making the approval process online, schools will not have to bother with the Zilla Parishad, nor will there be any need to prepare files. All information will have to be submitted online.

Since there would be no physical files involved, the data of schools will remain safe online. Apart from this, the information will be available on the website for all citizens to see.
