Pune: The Pune Municipal Corporation (PMC) has started the work on the missing link roads which were getting delayed due to land acquisition and other reasons. In the first phase, 33 essential and short-distance roads will be done on priority. 

For these seven roads, the land has been acquired and the work of four roads has already begun. Necessary funds will be made available for the remaining three roads for the work to begin.

Speaking to Pune Pulse, Vikas Dhakane, Additional Municipal Commissioner, PMC said, “Firstly, 49 such routes were finalized where completion of the missing link work was going to happen. Already, 6 out of those have been completed. Now, from the rest, 33 important missing link routes have been finalized by the PMC out of which the required land to complete 7 missing link routes has been acquired. Out of these 7 routes, actual road work has begun for 4 routes. The missing link work will be completed soon.”

As per further information, in the initial period, it has been decided to make roads of short distance, but important in terms of traffic. 33 roads have been selected for it.

7 roads for which land has been acquired

· Kodre Farm to Prayeja City-Narveer Tanaji Malusare Road (Sinhagad Road)

· Navale Bridge to Bhumkar Chowk

· Airport Road to Viman Nagar

· Symbiosis to Viman Nagar

· Kale Padal to Ravi Park

· Hume Pipe Factory to Sinhagad Road

· Road in Viman Nagar Survey No 233
