A heart-wrenching video of Maharashtra farmer Gaurav Panwar went viral on social media, stirring deep emotions across the country. The video shows Pawar’s grief as untimely rains destroyed his entire peanut crop stored at the mandi, leaving him devastated.

Responding to the video, Union Minister Shivraj Singh Chouhan expressed his sympathy and support. “As a farmer myself, I can deeply relate to this pain,” he said, adding that he personally spoke to Gaurav Pawar over the phone to offer words of comfort and reassurance.

He further assured that the loss would be compensated soon. “Our farmer brothers should not worry. The Maharashtra Government, along with Chief Minister Devendra Fadnavis, is highly sensitive to such issues,” Chouhan stated.

He emphasized that both the central and state governments are committed to standing by farmers in every situation. “Farmer welfare is our highest priority,” he added.

The incident has sparked a conversation about the urgent need for stronger crop protection mechanisms and faster compensation processes in the face of increasingly unpredictable weather patterns affecting Indian agriculture.
