The Bund garden police nabbed a gang involved in theft at a prominent mall in Pune city. The accused, identified as Gaurav Kumar Ramkesh Meena (19), Balram Harbhajan Meena (29), Yogesh Kumar Lakshmi Meena (25), and Sonukumar Biharilal Meena (25), hailing from Rajasthan, were apprehended with stolen items worth Rs. 1.54 lakhs, including branded clothes and shoes.

According to police reports, the theft took place at a mall near the RTO office in Sangamwadi on Sunday evening. The gang swiftly grabbed expensive branded clothing and footwear before attempting to flee. However, their escape was thwarted by security guards who detained them until police arrival.

The investigation revealed that this gang of thieves from Pune was flying in from Rajasthan and stealing. Upon searching their car near Malang, police discovered a stash of stolen goods, leading to the subsequent arrest of the gang leader, Yogesh Meena, from a hotel in Khadki Bazar, and Sonu Meena from Pune railway station.

Further investigation revealed their involvement in two other theft cases reported at the Bund Garden police station. Additional Commissioner of Police Praveen Kumar Patil, along with Deputy Commissioner of Police Smartana Patil, Assistant Commissioner Sanjay Surve, Senior Inspector of Police Sandeepan Pawar, Inspector of Police (Crime) Shrikant Nimbalkar, Assistant Inspector Abhijit Jadhav, Sub Inspector of Police Ravindra Gawde, and Police Constables Dyaneshwar Bade, Shivaji Sark, and Manoj Bhokare, led the operation. The accused have been booked under relevant sections of the law, and the recovered items have been seized as evidence.
