Randeep Hooda revealed that he spent two years working on ‘Swatantra Veer Savarkar’ and sold his properties in Mumbai to finance the biopic. Facing a cash crunch during the production phase, he was determined to see the project through.

Physical Transformation: To embody the character of Savarkar, Randeep underwent significant weight loss, bringing his weight down to 60 kilograms. Maintaining this weight during filming proved challenging, as he deprived himself of proper meals and survived on water, black coffee, and green tea initially.

Health Challenges: Randeep Hooda faced health challenges during the filming of “Swatantra Veer Savarkar.” He remembered hurting his knee while riding a horse and tore three ligaments, leading to two months of immobility. Despite the setback, he maintained a simple diet to aid his recovery.

The journey of making “Swatantra Veer Savarkar” was not without its hurdles. Randeep faced delays in releasing the film due to various production issues, including challenges with the film’s quality and team dynamics.

Despite opening with mixed reviews, “Swatantra Veer Savarkar” collected Rs 11.35 crore in its first week. Audiences praised Randeep Hooda for his dedication, body transformation, and stellar performance in the biopic.
