Pune: On October 31, Reliance Industries Limited (RIL) announced the inauguration of Jio World Plaza, a retail mall spanning 7.50 lakh sq ft in Mumbai’s Bandra Kurla Complex (BKC), which is known as India’s most expensive commercial business district. The mall will be accessible to the general public starting from November 1.
According to a statement by the company, the Plaza is seamlessly connected to the Nita Mukesh Ambani Cultural Centre, the Jio World Convention Centre, and the Jio World Garden. It is designed as an exclusive destination for retail, leisure, and dining, spread across four levels and measuring 7.50 lakh sq ft. The mall will feature 66 luxury brands.
Isha M Ambani, Director of Reliance Industries Limited informed that the Jio World Plaza aims to showcase the finest global brands in India while also highlighting the skill and artistry of top Indian brands, resulting in a distinctive retail experience. The pursuit of excellence, innovation, and improving customer satisfaction drives the company’s endeavours. According to Ambani, the Jio World Plaza is not just a retail destination but a representation of beauty, tradition, and recreation.
The Indian market has seen several notable international brands making their debut, including Balenciaga, the Giorgio Armani Café, Pottery Barn Kids, Samsung Experience Centre, EL&N Café, and Rimowa. In addition to these, the plaza boasts flagship stores of iconic brands such as Louis Vuitton, Gucci, Cartier, Bally, Giorgio Armani, Dior, YSL, and Bulgari. The JWP will also feature renowned designers like Manish Malhotra, Abu Jani-Sandeep Khosla, Rahul Mishra, Falguni and Shane Peacock, and Ri By Ritu Kumar, among others, according to the company statement. The plaza’s structure has been inspired by the lotus flower and other elements of nature and has been brought to life through a collaboration between TVS, a prestigious international architecture and design firm headquartered in the United States, and the Reliance team.
According to the company statement, the shopping concourse features meticulously placed sculptural columns that create design continuity throughout the space. The marble-clad floors, soaring vaulted ceilings, and soft lighting work together to establish a luxurious backdrop.
Additionally, visitors will be welcomed by a contemporary sculpture by Jitish Kallat on the first level, and the third level offers entertainment options such as a multiplex theater and gourmet food emporium. The Plaza aims to provide a top-notch retail experience, with services like personal shopping assistance, VIP concierge, and hands-free shopping with baggage drop, among others, to enhance the consumer’s experience.
