Residents and school children come together for Road Safety Awareness Programme on NIBM road

Members of the NIBM Road Residents Forum on August 31 held a Road Safety Awareness Programme at NIBM Road in Kondhwa. The programme saw a street play Nukkad Natak staged by students of Class 8 of RIMS School, NIBM road.

The programme saw participation of members of NRRF, Principal of RIMS School, NIBM Road Shalini Saraf, Kondhwa Traffic Division officials and Residents of the area.

Officials from NRRF told Pune Pulse that the area is developing multifold and so has increased the number of vehicles. The event was planned to educate people about following traffic rules. We had great support from the Kondhwa Traffic Division and RIMS school, NIBM road. Renowned social activist from Kondhwa Rohan Gaikwad also graced the programme. Adv Sushama Joshi Chairperson of NRRF had conceptualized the event.

Shalini Saraf, Principal, RIMS school, NIBM road said, “Today’s children are the voice of tomorrow…they have identified the necessity of road safety and traffic rules that need to be catered to bring about a safe future. The students curated the entire play from scripting to screenplay and implementation with the help of the Hindi department of the school who worked relentlessly and ensured every detail of the play was taken care of.  We thank the NRRF, along with Kondwa traffic police, for creating this platform with a patient ear towards the students’ voice.”
