Resolution Found After 15-Year Dispute : Couple Chooses to Coexist with In-Laws in Kolhapur Home

After a decade and a half of contention over whether the wife should reside with her in-laws or stay with her husband, a breakthrough has been achieved through counseling. In a surprising turn of events, the estranged couple, who have been living separately since 2008, have decided to unite and share a home in Kolhapur. 

The husband, a businessman, has chosen to reside with his wife’s parents, marking an end to a prolonged disagreement rooted in differences of opinion regarding post-marital living arrangements.

The conflict arose when the wife’s father insisted that his daughter live with her husband in Kolhapur after marriage, a proposition the son-in-law vehemently opposed. After years of discord, the couple sought counseling from Adv Rahul Jadhav, who identified the underlying love and commitment they held for each other. Through counseling, the husband agreed to take responsibility for his mother-in-law, leading to a reconciliation that has brought the couple and both sets of parents together under one roof.

Adv Rahul Jadhav emphasized the importance of timely counseling for couples, particularly when facing disputes over post-marital arrangements and caregiving responsibilities for parents. He highlighted that decisions about taking care of parents, especially when the daughter is the only child, should be made thoughtfully by both partners to avoid future conflicts in marital life.
