Ring Road Project in Pune Takes a Step Forward As Notification Issued For Two Routes

Pune: The Pune Metropolitan Region Development Authority (PMRDA) has taken a step ahead for the ring road project, while the Maharashtra Road Development Corporation (MSRDC) has started the process of land acquisition, as informed by Sachin Kothekar, Deputy Secretary of the Revenue and Forest Department.

As per the information received, the ring road, which has been taken over by the PMRDA, will traverse through 44 villages in the four talukas of Khed, Haveli, Mulshi, and Maval. Also, information on where the ring road will pass, the survey number, and the area that will need to be acquired in that survey number is also provided.

The MSRDC has initiated the ring road project to alleviate traffic congestion in Pune and Pimpri-Chinchwad cities. Consequently, in the first phase, the MSRDC has commenced the process of land acquisition for the ring road in the western region. The PMRDA had previously decided to develop a ring road in the Regional Development Plan (DP).

As per the information provided, with this decision, there will be two ring roads in the district, with a distance of 15–20 km between them.

Mulshi: Bawdhan Khurd, Bhugaon, Bawdhan Budruk, Sus, Nande, Man, Hinjewadi, Marunji, Nere, Jambe; Sangavade, Darumbre, Salumbre, Godumbre, Dhamne, Parandwadi.”
