Sadhu Vaswani bridge demolition: Pune traffic police announces traffic changes. Check details

The Pune Traffic Police have announced traffic changes in Bund Garden & Koregaon Park areas as the Sadhu Vaswani bridge is going to be demolished.

As per information from Pune Traffic Police, the Sadhu Vaswani Bridge will be demolished and the Pune Municipal Corporation (PMC) will construct a new bridge, there is a possibility of traffic congestion in some areas in Koregaon Park, Bund Garden.

In order to keep the traffic in the said areas smooth, the following changes will come into effect from 10/1/2024 till further order:

• · One-way road from Parnkuti Chowk to Blue Diamond Chowk to Moboj Chowk.
• · One-way road from Moboj Chowk to Mahatma Gandhi Udyan Chowk (Bund Garden Road).
• · One-way road from Alankar Chowk to IB Chowk to Circuit House Chowk to Mor Odha Chowk.
• · One-way road from Mor Odha Chowk to Council Hall Chowk.

All types of heavy, bulky, multi-axle vehicles except essential service vehicles are banned for 24 hours on all the above-mentioned routes.

• · Kahun Road Junction to Tarapur Road Junction will remain a one-way road as before.
• · Council Hall Chowk to Sadhu Vaswani Putala is being made one way.

Alternate Routes:

• Vehicles going to Mor Odha Chowk from Nagar Road: Parnakuti Chowk, Mahatma Gandhi Chowk, Blue Diamond Chowk, right turn to Mangaldas Road to Moboj Chowk, left turn in front of Mangaldas Chowk, left turn to IB (Residency Club) Chowk, left turn to Circuit House Chowk to Mor Odha Chowk.
• Vehicles going to Mor Odha Chowk Koregaon Park: Mor Odha Chowk, straight to Council Hall Chowk, right turn to Mangaldas Chowk, right turn to Mahatma Gandhi Udyan Chowk via Bund Garden Road, turn right towards Koregaon Park.
• Vehicles going to Koregaon Park from Pune Station: Pune Station, Alankar Chowk, left turn to Jahangir Chowk, right turn to Mangaldas Chowk, Pune Station, Alankar Chowk, straight to IB Chowk, turn left to Mangaldas Chowk, turn right to Bund garden Road to Mahatma Gandhi Udyan Chowk, turn right towards Koregaon Park.
• Vehicles going from Pune Station to Ghorpadi: Pune Station to Alankar Chowk, straight to IB Chowk, Circuit House Chowk, Mor Odha Chowk to desired destination.
• All buses (including PMPML) coming from Ghorpadi and Bhairoba Nala Chowk will directly go straight from Mor Odha Chowk, from Kahun Road Junction, take a left turn and go to Tarapur Road Junction and take a right turn to Tarapur Road and proceed to the desired destination through Council Hall Chowk.
• The one-way road from IB Junction to Mor Odha will be temporarily made two-way as and when required.
• Traffic from Blue Diamond Chowk to South Main Road, Koregaon Park will ply as usual.

The Pune traffic police has requested all citizens to take note of the traffic changes.
