Sara Ali Khan Barred From Entering Kedarnath Temple ?
March 18, 2026: Actor Sara Ali Khan may face restrictions on visiting the Kedarnath Temple following new guidelines introduced by the Badrinath – Kedarnath Temple Committee.
According to committee officials, individuals who are not followers of Sanatan Dharma will now be required to submit a formal affidavit declaring their belief in Hinduism before being allowed entry into temples under its management.
Committee chairman Hemant Dwivedi stated that Sara Ali Khan, who frequently visits the Kedarnath shrine, would be permitted to offer prayers only if she submits such a declaration and expresses her faith in Sanatan Dharma.
The development has drawn attention due to the actor’s diverse family background. She is the daughter of actor Saif Ali Khan and Amrita Singh, and granddaughter of veteran actress Sharmila Tagore.
Sara first visited Kedarnath in 2017 during the filming of the movie Kedarnath and has since been known to return regularly for religious visits.
The new policy has sparked debate, with discussions emerging around religious access, personal beliefs, and changing norms at prominent pilgrimage sites.
