In the ongoing campaign for the Chinchwad Assembly constituency, Shankar Jagtap toured Punawale Societies today to interact with residents

Punawale residents had been protesting the establishment of a garbage depot in the village for over 15 years, with the late leader Laxmanbhau playing a pivotal role in advocating for its cancellation at the state level. His consistent appeals drew the attention of the state government, but his untimely passing left the matter unresolved. After his death, MLA Ashwini Jagtap took up the cause, raising the depot issue in the state assembly. His persistent efforts bore fruit, with the state government ultimately canceling the depot project.

In its place, MLA Ashwini Jagtap proposed an Oxygen Park, a project he championed and which recently received government approval and funding. This green initiative is expected to boost the environment and prestige of Punawale.

Numerous other infrastructure projects, funded through contributions by the late MLA Laxmanbhau and MLA Ashwini Jagtap, have also been completed in Punawale. These include 12-meter and 18-meter DP roads, asphalted internal roads, stormwater drainage systems, pedestrian pathways, street lighting, beautification works at traffic islands, and improvements to the Ram Temple area, where a new pavilion will soon be constructed.

Shankar Jagtap assured villagers that Punawale’s development trajectory will continue to rise, improving facilities and quality of life for all residents.
