Shatrughna Kate issued a strong-worded statement to municipal commissioner and administrator Rajesh Patil
Shatrughna Kate issued a statement highlighting the water crisis in Saudagar. “Irregular and low-pressure water supply has become a serious problem. This situation has to change,” the statement said.
Kate mentioned that his ward with a population of about 80,000 has 150 societies and independent houses too. “The water supply to the societies is 30 to 40% lesser than the required quantity and is supplied on alternative days. Societies with 500 or more flats have to rely on 10 to 20 tankers per day. Lakhs of rupees have to be spent every month just on tankers. Who caused this?”
Kate said that his ward is facing acute water shortage after it came under the control of the Pimpri Chinchwad Municipal Corporation. Though smart city projects are ongoing, the reality seems quite different, his statement said.
He also warned of a mass movement if the water-related issues at Smart City, Pimple Saudagar – Rahatani is not solved in a day or two.
