A male traveller on SpiceJet flight SG-268 from Mumbai to Bengaluru was reportedly stuck inside a restroom due to a broken door lock. Engineers at Bengaluru airport forced open the loo door, allowing for his rescue.

According to sources at Bengaluru airport, the incident happened on flight SG-268, which departed Mumbai airport on Tuesday at 2 am.

An airport official in Bengaluru stated that the traveller had used the restroom shortly after takeoff. Sadly, the toilet door malfunctioned and he became stuck inside.

The crew heard the passenger’s frantic calls and attempted to open the door from the outside.

When the crew realized they couldn’t open the restroom door while in flight, one of the air hostesses wrote a note in capital letters on a brown paper note & slid it under the loo door that said “Sir, we tried our best to open the door, however, we could not. Do not panic. We are landing in a few minutes, so please close the commode lid and sit on it and secure yourself. As soon as the main door is open, the engineer will come. Do not panic.”

When the flight landed at Bengaluru airport, engineers came inside the aircraft, broke open the door, and saved the man. First aid was administered to the passenger right away.
