In a heartbreaking incident, a tourist from Hyderabad lost her life in a paragliding accident in Himachal Pradesh’s Kullu district. 

The unfortunate incident occurred on Sunday, prompting immediate action and a thorough investigation into the circumstances surrounding the tragedy. The tragic accident involved a female tourist, Navya (26), who fell from a considerable height onto the roof of a house, resulting in her death. District Collector Kullu, Torul S Ravish, has ordered a magisterial inquiry into the incident to ascertain the facts surrounding the unfortunate event. 

Preliminary reports suggest that a “human error” may have been the cause of the accident. The paragliding pilot, responsible for the safety of the tourist, has been apprehended, and a magisterial inquiry has been initiated to delve into the details of the incident. 

The tourism officer for Kullu, Sunaina Sharma, clarified that the paragliding site and equipment had received approval, the pilot was duly registered, and there were no weather-related concerns.

The gravity of the situation has led to the suspension of all paragliding activities in the area. 

A case has been registered against the pilot under IPC sections 336 (act endangering personal safety of others) and 334 (voluntarily causing hurt). The arrested pilot awaits further legal proceedings.

The police, taking swift action, have registered a case of negligence against the paraglider pilot, who now faces legal consequences.
