On 26th February (Monday), a shocking incident took place when 3 individuals vandalized the premises of a Petrol Pump, located near the Pune Municipal Corporation (PMC) headquarters in Shivajinagar. This happened due to waiting in a long queue for filling petrol.

Speaking to Pune Pulse, Chandrashekhar Sawant, Police Inspector, Shivajinagar Police Station, gave more information “Verbal conversation turned into heated arguments at the petrol pump on Monday night at around 9:30 pm. A person was standing in a long queue, waiting to fill petrol in his vehicle. As he had to wait for a long time, he started arguing & quarrelling with the petrol pump employee, who was filling petrol. At around 10 pm, the person came back with his friends & beat up petrol pump employees & started vandalizing the premises of the petrol pump with bamboo sticks, breaking glass etc. The petrol pump owner was also beaten with bamboo sticks.” 

Chandrashekhar Sawant further shared that the accused had been arrested 1 hour after the incident took place. There are 3 accused out of which 1 is a minor.

The case has been registered under Sections 452, 427, 324 of the Indian Penal Code (IPC). Further investigation is going on.
