Pune- Shrirang Barne, the candidate of Mahayuti from Maval Lok Sabha constituency, experienced his third victory. MP Barne’s workers cheered loudly. Talking to reporters, MP Barne said, “The people of Maval have trusted me for the third time. I have worked in the constituency for a decade maintaining harmony with the people and citizens. The voters of Pimpri-Chinchwad have put a lot of faith in me. All the MLAs and workers in Maval have worked consistently to gain this victory”.

Shrirang Barne expressed gratitude towards the people of the city and Maval who trusted him. He mentions that working in harmony with people is a true victory and gives credit to voters, Mahayuti workers, and leaders. According to him, he put the country’s work, development, and Maval as a top priority.

Barne began his political journey in 1997 as a corporator in Pimpri-Chinchwad Municipal Corporation (PCMC) with the Congress Party. He served as a chairman of the standing committee of the PCMC from 1999 to 2000 and was also president of the Pimpri-Chinchwad unit of Congress from 2002 to 2007. He joined the Shiv Sena in 2009 under Uddhav Thackeray. Later in 2012, he was elected as Sena’s group leader in PCMC. He contested the Lok Sabha polls and emerged victorious. After the split in Shiv Sena, he joined the faction led by Eknath Shinde.

The constituency comprises six Assembly segments out of which three fall under the Pune district (Pimpri, Chinchwad, and Maval), and the remaining (Urvan, Panvel, and Karjat) under Raigad district. Overall, the constituency has 2,509,461 voters, with 1,310,434 males and 1,198,868 females, and 159 individuals as the third gender. There are 632 overseas voters and 751 service voters.
