Nashik, April 9, 2026: A shocking case of alleged sexual and mental abuse at a reputed IT company has come to light in Nashik, triggering widespread outrage and raising fresh concerns over workplace safety for women.

Police have registered nine cases at the Mumbai Naka Police Station and arrested six accused in connection with the case. The allegations include sexual exploitation, mental harassment, and hurting religious sentiments of women employees.

According to preliminary investigations, the accused include a team manager and several colleagues who allegedly targeted young women employees aged between 18 and 25. The victims were reportedly coerced and manipulated using threats related to their careers and abuse of authority within the organization.

Officials said the harassment extended beyond physical exploitation, with victims also subjected to severe psychological pressure. Some complainants have additionally alleged that their religious sentiments were deliberately disrespected during the abuse.

The case is believed to be extensive, with police suspecting that as many as 20 to 25 women may have been affected. Recognizing the seriousness of the allegations, the city police have formed a Special Investigation Team (SIT) under senior officer Sandeep Mitke to conduct a detailed probe into the company’s internal functioning and possible involvement of other officials.

Out of the six accused, five men have been arrested, while one woman accused remains absconding. The arrested individuals were produced before a court on Wednesday.

Police have urged other potential victims to come forward without fear, assuring that their identities will be kept confidential.

The incident, reported from a major IT hub in Nashik, has once again brought the issue of women’s safety in corporate workplaces into sharp focus.
