SNBP International School Marks World Sparrow Day with Nest Installation Drive in Pimple Saudagar
Rahatani, Pune: SNBP International School celebrated World Sparrow Day (March 20) with a meaningful nest installation drive aimed at promoting bird conservation and environmental awareness among students.
As part of the initiative, 12 sparrow nests were adopted and installed across the school campus, creating a safe and welcoming habitat for the birds. The nests were arranged by Nature Forever Society, with support from Pune coordinator Chandan Chaurisia, Nature Forever is dedicated to sparrow and environmental conservation.
Students actively took part in the activity along with Activity Coordinator Babita Banerjee and faculty members. The hands-on experience helped them understand the ecological importance of sparrows and the growing challenges they face due to urbanization and habitat loss.
Director-Principal Dr. Jayshree Venkatraman and Chairman Dr. D. K. Bhosale, along with members of the school management, highlighted the importance of collective efforts in protecting biodiversity. They encouraged students to adopt simple, everyday practices that contribute to environmental conservation.
State Board Principal Sonal Srivastava, along with her staff and students, also participated in the nest box installation activity, adding to the spirit of the event.
The initiative served as a strong reminder that small steps, such as installing bird nests and creating safe spaces, can make a meaningful difference. SNBP International School continues to inspire students to become responsible citizens and active contributors to nature conservation.
