SPPU Opens Admissions For UG, PG 2026–27 Academic Year; Applications Open Till May 15
Pune, April 15, 2026: Savitribai Phule Pune University has announced the start of its admission process for undergraduate (UG), postgraduate (PG), integrated, and interdisciplinary programmes for the academic year 2026–27.
Candidates can submit their applications online through the university’s official admission portal until May 15, 2026.
Admissions will be granted based on performance in the Online Entrance Examination (OEE), which is scheduled to be conducted between June 1 and June 13. The examination will be held in a centre-based online format and will have a duration of two hours.
The OEE will be of 100 marks, divided into two sections. Section A, carrying 20 marks, will assess general knowledge, reasoning ability, aptitude, and comprehension skills. Section B, with 80 marks, will focus on subject-specific questions. The university has specified that negative marking will apply, with one-fourth marks deducted for each incorrect response.
In case candidates secure identical scores, the merit ranking will be determined based on performance in Section B, followed by marks obtained in the qualifying examination if required.
Students appearing for their final qualifying examinations are also eligible to apply, provided they meet the eligibility criteria at the time of admission.
Reservation policies will be implemented in accordance with Maharashtra government norms. This includes provisions for reserved categories, persons with disabilities, children of defence personnel, and a 30% reservation for female candidates in undergraduate programmes.
The application fee is ₹1,000 for general category candidates and ₹800 for reserved category applicants. Candidates applying for multiple courses will need to pay the fee separately for each programme.
Applicants must upload all necessary documents, including mark sheets and relevant certificates, during the application process. Admit cards will be made available for download five days prior to the examination.
The university has clarified that inclusion in the merit list does not ensure admission. Final admission will be subject to document verification and fulfilment of eligibility criteria. Hostel facilities and financial assistance will be offered through separate processes and are not guaranteed.
Candidates are advised to refer to the official university website for detailed information regarding courses, eligibility, and examination syllabus.
