In a significant breakthrough, Swargate police have arrested a 50-year-old thief from Tamil Nadu, Suresh Kumar Pandurangan Servai, for his involvement in a string of car break-ins across Pune. Servai, along with two accomplices (since deceased), committed 11 crimes within the limits of Swargate, Khadak, Chandannagar, Deccan, and Yerwada police stations.

The gang’s modus operandi involved smashing car windows and stealing valuables, including laptops and cash. Over the past few months, numerous incidents were reported, primarily in the Swargate area, with five cases registered at Swargate police station alone.

A technical investigation led police to Bangalore, where a stolen laptop was being used. Servai was detained and, during interrogation, confessed to the crimes. Two laptops have been recovered from him.

Under the guidance of Deputy Commissioner of Police Smartana Patil, Assistant Commissioner Rahul Aware, and Senior Police Inspector Yuvraj Nandre, a team of officers worked tirelessly to apprehend the suspect. “This arrest is a significant achievement in curbing interstate theft,” said Smartana Patil while talking to media. “We will continue to work diligently to bring the remaining accomplices to justice.”
